How to Become a Morning Person (If You Hate Waking Up Early)

If it’s easy to wake up early in the morning, more people would be doing it. Chances are, it’s much harder for many people than you think. But if you really need to become a morning person, here are some cool and easy tips you can try:

Prepare some delicious breakfast

This trick works well if you’re a foodie. There’s nothing like waking up to the smell of freshly cooked eggs and bacon in the morning, right? But if you don’t have anyone to make your breakfast and if you don’t have the energy or the patience to cook your own food, you can store ready-made breakfast food in your fridge.

Love waffles? Get some pre-cooked or frozen ones or make them yourself and store in the freezer. Make a batch of sausage and egg sandwiches on a weekend, and freeze until you’re ready to heat and eat them.

Wear your workout clothes to sleep the night before

Wear your running shorts and jacket to sleep the night before. This way, you won’t have to rummage and mix and match your workout outfit so early in the morning. And since you’re already dressed for a run, you’ll have less excuse not to get up and work out. Prepare a running or workout playlist to pump you up and keep you moving.

Automate your coffee maker

There’s nothing like the smell of freshly brewed coffee in the morning. Set your coffee brewer to make that hot java the moment your alarm clock goes off. By the time you finish preparing for work, you’ll be rewarded by freshly brewed coffee to go. You’ll save money, too!

Don’t expect to be a morning person right away. Ironically, it’s not an overnight success. It requires small adjustments done consistently. But what’s important is that you celebrate small victories. Think of waking up earlier as a reward rather than a chore. This way, you’ll change your mind to loving mornings, even if it’s such a challenge to get out of your cozy bed.
